WordPress Pisses Me Off … Greatly.

I have been doing a lot of work with Drupal lately, have even become a patcher for Drupal core and trying to push Drupal 6 closer and closer to release. I log into my WordPress today to rant about TurboTax, and the first thing that I’m greeted with is:

A new version of WordPress is available! Please update now.

Okay, that’s cool, I’ll click your button. Wait, WTF? It takes me to a download link? Seriously? Thank you WordPress, for making WordPress a pain in the ass. You know what’s cool about Drupal 6? One-click updates of core AND contributed modules. You know what sucks about WordPress? I have to download modules and core and update them manually. Fuck that.So now it has come time to investigate importing all of my WordPress blog entries(there aren’t that many of them) into Drupal 6. I remember seeing a project for doing this that was in the beginning stages, so maybe I won’t have to write my own tool to do it. But hey, if I do, I can always get mad Drupal karma for writing a useful tool.

Additionally, the visual editor for WordPress keeps destroying all of the visual formatting I put into posts and I end up having to go into the code view anyways … WTF is the point of a visual editor that isn’t WYSIWYG?

Goodbye WordPress, I won’t be missing you.
